Steve Bramucci Favourite QLD Hinterland Town

Travel writer, Steve Bramucci recently named Mount Tamborine as his favourite Hinterland town in an article that was published on Coast Magazine – Orange County.

Below is a snippet of the article that was published:

After soaking up some beach culture, my next stop was Queensland’s lush interior. It’s an area largely ignored by tourists, a shame considering that The Hinterland is composed mostly of tropical forests, waterfalls and quaint villages. The fact that there’s also an excellent collection of vineyards open for wine tastings certainly didn’t do anything to lower my opinion of the area. Though the word “hinterland” simply means “the land behind,” in Queensland it usually refers to mountains just inland from the Sunshine and Gold Coasts, respectively. My favorite Hinterland town was Mount Tamborine, less than an hour’s drive from Surfers Paradise. It’s a neat little collection of art galleries, national parks and wineries. The rustic way of life and sleepy peacefulness of the rainforest lodges are a perfect contrast to the hustle of Surfers. A little further south, Springbrook National Park made an ideal day trip. The entire park is worthy of exploration, but Natural Bridge is not to be missed. A waterfall has bored its way through a cave roof – stunning enough as is – but stay past nightfall and suddenly the cave’s ceiling comes alive with millions of glow worms. (article source)

Mt Tamborine’s reputation as a holiday escape is reaching beyond the Gold Coast and surrounding areas, this is fantastic for the tourism industry of the area! Thanks Steve for including Mount Tamborine in your article.
